The Media

A Photo a Day...
I truly like the idea of blogging, but just don't seem to take the time to do it on a regular basis. I follow a ton of blogs, both professionally and personally, and find so many educational and entertaining bits if information on them. I have my students blogging on a regular basis. I think my issue is time or lack of it.
So, I'd like to try something new....the other day I was pulled over for speeding. After handing over my license and insurance card, I immediately grabbed for my phone and started snapping photos of the officer behind be via my side mirror. I immediately posted one of them on Face Book. Several friends comments on FB and to me in person that they were so surprised that I had thought to take a photo. This is where my new idea came to be....
A photo a day....a snapshot of my life. Just like the title of this blog....A little bit of this, a little bit of that, in photos.
So, here is the photo that got this idea rolling...

Last day.....Let Summer Begin!
It's Micah and Maddy's last day of school. Where has the time gone? In a short week they will be 10 and 8, respectively. Yikes!!!
We are looking forward to going to the Lake House this weekend to see all the Uncles, their girl friends, and the cousins. The temps are only going to be in the 60s. I bet the kids won't mind at all.
Next week we are going to a Mallards game with family and friends and Mike and Micah have Scout camp. Then summer school starts!!!

When I grow up...
When Maddy grows up she wants to be a teacher. This is the only thing she has ever said she wants to be. I think she will be an awesome teacher or anything her heart desires.
For the past several months, Micah has been talking about becoming a vet. After returning home from a farm trip a few weeks ago he added another profession to the list....he now wants to be a butcher and a vet. Nice combo : )

Kicked in the...
Last Saturday Maddy played in her last soccer game of the season. At one point, early in the game, she got hurt. I had my back turned, watching Micah's team and hadn't seen how her injury occurred. All I knew was that there wasn't any blood and she was up running around in no time at all.
At half-time, Maddy came running over to me and asked me to help tie her shoe. As I did this, she said, "Mom, did you see me get hurt before? I got kicked right in the nuts!"
Trying not to burst out laughing, I simply replied, "Maddy, remember, girls don't have nuts, they have vagi..." and she cut me off in mid-sentence with, "I know, I know, but that's where I got kicked!"
